Neverwinter Nights - NWN

Postby kendo » Wed Oct 08, 2008 12:46 pm

Welcome NWN players. I hope you enjoy the spanky new forum.
Please feel free to make yourself at home and scuff up the place a bit.
I don't mind feet on the furniture, but please keep your wine off the carpet.
cheers...

Hi Tass.. I saw Tommy on the other day, so you are not alone.
The 'history and information' from the other forum can hopefully
be ported over to this one. But rather than leave people with a
large gap while we fiddled about, we opened up with a clean slate.

that is NOT to say that all our old friends aren't welcome anymore.
it's a bit bare at the moment, i must admit... but it's good to see you
and Tommy here. so please accept a heartfelt WELCOME.

wehey. nice one, Argon.

so who's still playing NWN?
anybody ever play NWN2?

one of gaming's saddest stories, really.
all of the hard work had been done on version 1.
it just needed padding out and expanding.

bah.

im actually going through NWN2 now

i started it the other day.. finally managed to get out of the start area (managed to fight my temptations of quitting cos of that guys voice right at the start....) but ill probably play it more once i finish the NWN:HotU campaign. decided to go with something different for hotu (instead of just a rogue) so went for a Bard/Red Dragon Disciple/Weapon Master build and i like it quite alot so far so yeah once thats done i guess ill see how far i can get in NWN2

me and wild had a go of the campaign multiplayer and tbh im not too fond of the way it works mp.. also not too fond that in the sp you cant ditch your party members cos quite frankly i wanna go solo lol. but yeah on the mp whenever a pc goes to a different zone everybody gets zoned with him so you cant really have 2 pc's in different zones which is a bit meh :/

personally i wouldnt of minded a NWN1 just redone with better graphics but with the same gameplay system as it had already..

theres a new expansion coming out for it however that i was having a little read about, apparently theyre gonna have the old world map thing that BG1 had you know that you can basically explore everywhere and just wander off track.. imo it was a really great idea, allows ya to explore and essentially do what you want instead of being in some linear story all the time.

Hey! I've been on NwN 1! I wanted to get a hold of Malto and see if he still has that recording of my drunk on Teamfortress. I wanted to know if he could put it on utube and have it translated out so people will understand it. I might become famous! Anyway If yall wanna join me on nwn 1 sometime Im on the Chaos server. I've got a little place going there.

Yeah, uh. Just so you know, I'm still here... And I also doubt that I'll be able to play NWN, seeing as my disc is lost and gone forever.

Kendo, is there by any chance that you are ever gonna put up CM again? Either in NWN2 or NWN1.

if i recall it would be very unlikely that ken would host CM again considering hes moving into a new home which i believe wouldnt allow him to host a server

however tass said he could and im sure isabelle would give it a shot too would need to speak to them however lol

EVERYONE! I hope yall get the chance to visit agian. I truely hope. Because I leave this link. This is basically CM in a lot of fashions. It has an area with CM rules for pvp. It has MANY players on the server. It is an AWSOME place to play and hte best part is you dont lose exp when you die. Its great player interaction and fun. A good amount of guilds. The Shadow Thieves is up and running with a complext guildhouse... the only place to buy epic traps. Is a nice place.

HERE IS THE LINK

@Tass Nice one Ryan. I'm glad you've found a friendly and reliable place to play. The link you posted doesn't seem to work though?

@Legendy I feel blessed to have run the CM server, and met so many interesting people. But sadly, I don't have the time to devote to it any more (much though i would like to). If people want to run my old modules, or pick over the bones to see their scripts, i'll gladly post them up.

@Tommy Yeah, we'll be on mobile broadband, so i won't be able to run a server. But there should be opportunities to play again. I'm really looking forward to that, even if I can just pop in for an hour or two a week.
