The Black Dog – Floods – Soma 231 12″
A. Floods V3
B1. Floods V3.2 ( Surgeon Remix)
B2. Floods V3.1 (The Bass Soldier Remake)
After months of waiting and what seems like a lifetime mastering and mixing , the new single is finally here. We got Single Of The Month in Mixmag and the single seems to be going down really, really well. Anyway here’s some DJ feedback on the release:
Shelley Parker ? This is excellent! Just so great to hear this dubstep/techno sound being pushed to it?s limits. Fave mix Surgeon. Will chart in Nov.
Louis Osbourne ? This Surgeon mix is wicked? it?s got some serious fun in there.
Josh Wink ? Very interesting record, as usual for tBd?Surgeon mix is something that I may try out. Top production as usual.
Laurent Garnier ? looooooove the dubstep remix. Will definitely play that.

Nice little surprise for us this morning in the post, we’re not really sure what “Electro/Disco-Punk” is but we’ll give anything a try twice!!! Cheers DJ Mag.

We also get a mention in 2007’s Players Of The Year, we are back from the dead apparently but nice to get some props for work old and new. Click here to read the little mention.
And to round it all off, here’s a load of cuttings from things we’ve been involved in one way or another – Click.

We’ve no idea what the sun is doing out in Sheffield in September but it’s most welcome. August was a strange one for us and was sealed off with the gig a Connect. We had a great time and it’s always good to catch up with the Soma crew and we finally got to meet our friends from the Rubens, always good to put a face to a email address – Wotcha Mark/Gordon 🙂 If you haven’t checked out the Rubens yet Click Here.
The gig went well but we felt it could have gone better on some of the newer stuff we dropped, it’s always this way when you start to play out your new tracks, all the what “ifs” and there’s no harder crowd than a festival crowd to do in front of – why we do it to ourselves I’ve no idea but it seems to be our way these days – It always more interesting to push yourself than take the easy way out. We chilled out with Nathan Fake before heading back to lovely grey Sheffield.
We’ve finally completed the remix for the Vector Lovers track Hush over the weekend, so that’s winging its way to be mastered at the moment – as soon as we have the release details we’ll put them up.
Work continues on the album and it looks like we may just hit our target and deliver it on time, which will be a first for us!!!! As mentioned somewhere else on the blog, the 12″ version of Floods is sat waiting to go – anyway back to it, see you in Manchester or Dublin if you can make it.
The new masters for Temple of Transparent Balls are finally back?and sounding very phat indeed. Soma have this and a 4 track 12″ slated for release in October – more news and the artwork from the dust studio?crew to follow.
The new 12″, Floods V2, has been submitted to Soma, this 12 comes with a remixes from?Birmingham’s finest Surgeon and a new dubstep artist from Sheffield called The Bass Soldier (he’s only 17 as well!!!). The album (Radio Scarecrow) is well on its way to being finished in mid-September and if we can get our act together a tour to support it. The remix for the Vector Lovers is coming along nicely and Slam’s Azure is sat waiting to be bitten really hard next.
